I wrote my first story when I was in fifth grade, it was a horror story about a house at the end of my street. I use the word "horror" loosely, considering I was 10 years old and anything that ticked or tocked in the middle of the night was scare-worthy. I got a A+ on the story. Mr. Johnston, my teacher wrote in the margins, One day, I hope to see your books on the shelves of a bookstore. His words stuck with me until the end of the school day, and then disappeared into the parts of the mind we dare not go. Those words remained concealed for almost 30 years, when the writing bug whispered in my ear, Go write her story. That story was Going Numb, my first book. Now almost 20 years later, I have published more than a dozen books and I am currently working on two new novels.
When I am not writing, or talking about writing, or dreaming about writing, I am a Dad , and a Grandad. Therein lies the true blessings of my words.
